Lyman Children's Programs:
Book Club Monday:
(September to April) 4 pm --Primary Grade Children
Children meet to enjoy books read by the librarian, and to share books that they have read and enjoyed during the week. Children receive a treat for reading books related to the monthly theme and do worksheet activities related to their reading.


Story Hour:
(September to May) 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. For children ages 3 - 5. During Story Hour, children enjoy books read aloud by the librarian. Movement activities, music & crafts are part of the fun.

Summer Reading:
This year's theme is to be Bugs Bugs Bugs. (Children preschool - 6th grade)
Children meet reading goals for minutes read each week and receive prizes for their effort.
Meetings include activities and crafts.
Children who participate for the entire program receive a free book at the end.

Begins in June with an opening party.  Continues with meetings each Thursday.
Closing party in July.


Reading Partners:
Pairs elementary age children who need reading practice with mentors from the middle school and high school. Partners meet twice a week for 1/2 hour to read to each other.
Begins Monday, June 2nd 3:30 to 4 p.m.,
continues at the same time each Monday and Thursday through July 31st.


Read and Win:
A summer reading program for preteens and teens that will be in the 4th - 12th grade next school year. There are two ways to "Read and Win". Participants who use the library 8 times during the summer will receive a free pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Students who want another reward read at least 3 books from the current Indian Paintbrush or Soaring Eagle book list, vote for their favorite book and suggest a title for next year's list to receive a "lunch special" from Taco Time.

Scholastic Book Fair:
The Lyman Library will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair this summer (tba). A Wide selection of hardback and paperback books will be on sale. Proceeds from the fair benefit the library.
